Be careful Androidites

Antivirus in PC have been the compulsion for us since a decade. Now here comes the threat for mobile. With 52.5% market share, Android is the main attack under the threat radar these days. I am seeing not so happy faces among Android users because of malfunctions they are facing now and then. Till few months back, they were the happiest and craziest faces with widest grin because of huge collection of games and apps they owned as if they had inherited the world treasure for themselves. Now, threats are added in their treasure box. Obviously this is not a good news. I use Nokia E7 with latest Symbian Belle update. Its pretty smooth and virus free. But who knows if its cracked someday by the same one that entered in my brother’s Samsung SII few days back.

We are going the right direction

New Style of Styling

LESS CSS StylingTechnology is leading much ahead in its own way. Since 1999, HTML is introduced formally as a markup language. Initially, it is introduced as simple language but today it has taken huge shape. Every technology has been advance and changing to make easier for complex. But I just want to get involved in as small section of web development.

Every web developer and non technical person who are interested on web technology know basic things and classical scriptings. But Today to make much easier some changes has been done on writing process as well. I m not talking about HTML5 and CSS3. Because we have something left behind and can do some improvement on older version. And we can also continue for CSS3 as well.

Ys I m talking about the technology is LESS. LESS extends CSS with dynamic behavior such as variables, mixins, operations and functions. LESS runs on both the client-side (IE 6+, Webkit, Firefox) and server-side, with Node.js. Its nothing more that managing the css in better way. It deals with small concept and terms of programing language. Every time we leave our css in messy way but with use of this technology, clutter will be deducted very much in simplified way. It seems we are programing. In actual, we are styling.

For detail you can get access to LESS website i.e. lesscss.org. Its an awesome technique. Meanwhile, If you are comfortable with Ruby language then you can check to SASS as well. Its somehow similar to each other.

I liked this advertisement

As I saw the advertisement of “Kantipur” Daily in ECS living, I paused for a moment, gazed on the composition and absorbed the message it was reflecting. The overall graphical representation is plain, almost dual color in a stylish, glossy magazine but it was conveying more message to its target audience than any other advertisment. Once again I realized, creativity is not about showing how much knowledge you have in the tools of software but giving a right message to the audience through any medium.

I am glad, I saw this advertisement.

Web Developer extension is a very handy and time-saving extension for Firefox. I’ve written and recommended it plenty of times and is an extension that I use daily. 3.Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar

Even if you prefer Firefox (or Safari) to develop and test your web pages, you have to test your stuff in the Internet Explorer browser for cross-compatibility. Whenever I test in IE, there are plenty of times when I wish certain features in Firebug and the Web Developer extension are accessible through IE, such as the DOM inspector option or the CSS Information option. IE Developer Toolbar is the IE add-on that provides me the features I like in my Firefox extensions.

First Day of Dashain “Ghatasthapana”

Ghatasthapana marks the beginning of Dashain. It literally means installing a pot which symbolizes Goddess Shakti. It falls on Aswin Shukla Pratipada, the first day of the bright half of the lunar calendar in the month of Ashvin. On this day the kalasha is filled with holy water and covered with cowdung on to which barley seeds are sown. Subsequently, the kalasha is put in the center of a rectangular sand block. The remaining bed of sand is also seeded with grains. The priest then starts the puja by calling goddess Durga to bless the vessel with her presence. This ritual is performed at a certain auspicious time which is determined by the astrologers. Goddess Shakti is believed to reside in the Kalash vessel during the Navratri period.

The room where all this is done is known as the ‘Dasain Ghar’. Generally, outsiders and women are not allowed to enter the Dasain Ghar. A male family member worships the Kalasha twice every day, once in the morning and then in the evening. It is kept under direct sunlight and holy water is offered to it everyday so that by the tenth day of the festival the seed will have grown to five or six inches long yellow grass. This sacred grass is known as ‘Jamara’. These rituals continue till the seventh day.
